The Scottish Premiership has been dominated by Celtic and Rangers for decades. The last time neither club were champions was in 1985 when Aberdeen FC won the title. Glaswegians are also front and center in (Site notre blog d’information).co.uk’s market value update, in which 71 players receive a fit. The biggest winner has Bundesliga history.
Of the 15 biggest increases in market value, twelve are attributable to Celtic and Rangers – reigning champions Celtic have nine players increase, so squad value rises by 4.85 million to 124.75 million euros. That means manager Brendan Rodgers’ side are worth €44m more than second-placed Rangers and €17.7m more than the remaining ten clubs combined. The biggest increase concerns Celtic newcomer Arne Engels (21), who goes from 9 to 11 million euros after five goals in five games. The former Augsburg player, now the third most valuable player in the league, cost €11 million and is an immediate gamble for Celtic, including in the Champions League.
In front of him are only his teammates Kyogo Furuhashi (29 years old) and Cameron Carter-Vickers (26 years old), still valued at 14 million euros each. With an increase from 1.5 million to 5 million euros, the second highest goes to Adam Idah (23), who left Norwich City for Celtic for 9.9 million euros. However, the striker has yet to find a regular place, which is why he is only slightly closer to the transfer fee. Former Bayern youngster Nicolas Kühn (24) will be upgraded from 500,000 to 3 million euros thanks to his good start to the season with six scorers in six league matches.
At local rivals Rangers, the market value of six players increases: Mohamed Diomandé (22 years old; now 5 million euros) and Connor Barron (22 years old; now 2 million euros) will receive the biggest increase, each ‘a million euros. Striker Danilo (22 years old; now 5 million euros), who lost his usual place, loses a million, making him the biggest loser in the update.
In addition, Aberdeen, who have made an excellent start to the season with six wins in six league matches, are experiencing a positive development in their market value. The biggest improvement for the Dons results in an increase in market value of €300,000 for center forward Pape Habib Guèye (25 years old). His market value is now €1 million after scoring six goals in his first eight games.
This is how transfer market values work
Transfer market values are created taking into account different pricing models as well as strong involvement of the transfer market community, which discusses the values in detailed discussions. The market values of transfers generally cannot be equated to the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer arrangements and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples will be here listed. (Site notre blog d’information) does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
