Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche absolutely does not want to give up shooting star Omar Marmoush in January. “We want to keep this team together this winter so that we can achieve our sporting goals. We still have a lot of potential for development in one area or another, but also as a team. Omar is an important part of it. “The question therefore does not arise,” Krösche said on “Welt TV”.
Marmoush, who joined the Hessian Bundesliga club on a free transfer from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023, has so far scored 14 goals in 16 competitive matches and provided eleven assists, making him the third top scorer in the top 10 leagues, and should join several big clubs, like FC Bayern or Liverpool who played in the focus. “Of course, there are always limits to pain. There are always sums where we as a club have to ask ourselves if it is the right time and the right amount. But we’re not there yet,” Krösche said. Basically, the club depends on transfer revenue.
Marmoush has increased his market value from 22 million to 40 million euros this season – only five professionals in the world have exceeded this jump since July 1. With this valuation, the Egyptian is the most valuable Frankfurt. No exit clause is included in the striker’s contract, which runs until 2027, as confirmed by Krösche. “No, nothing is regulated.”
Eintracht Frankfurt: Stay in touch with FC Bayern
The 44-year-old openly admitted that players whose development is faster than that of the club will also be let go. “We have implemented it over the last few years. » This is always an issue in contract negotiations. SGE has repeatedly lost high-level players, like Randal Kolo Muani a year and a half ago or Willian Pacho last summer. It is therefore all the more surprising that new rough diamonds are created every year and then really hit the mark.
The Hessians are currently surprising in third position in the standings, six points behind Bayern Munich. Playing a key role in this: Marmoush and his friendly partner Hugo Ekitiké, who form the most dangerous attacking duo in the league. However, Eintracht does not consider itself a title contender. “We just manage to play good (Site notre bureau spécialisé). But let’s not talk about titles or attacks on the title. “It’s still too early,” Krösche added. “We make sure to stay in touch.”
