In search of a new defender, TSG Hoffenheim has undergone several setbacks, but he always found it shortly before the transfer. Leo Østigård goes from the French first division club Rennes to Kraichgau, he is loaned until the end of the season. For him, it was the return to Germany, during the 2019/20 season, he played for FC St. Pauli in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The list of Hoffenheim’s transfer objectives for the defensive was growing. Originally, Stefan Posch (27) returned from FC Bologna to TSG, but for him, it was surprisingly at Atalanta Bergamo. Marvin Friedrich (29) was considered an alternative to the inner section, but Borussia Mönchengladbach would have repeated. And at the end, we also talked about a new advance but unsuccessful around Gernot Trauner de Feyenoord (32), with whom Hoffenheim would have treated for a long time.
Østigård did not go from SSC Naples to Rennes last summer for 7 million euros. Since then, he had 18 games in which he was allowed to go 16 times from the start. Rennes, however, put it in front of his nose with Anthony Rouault (23; Stuttgart) and Lilian Brassier (25; Brest) with higher market values - 10 million euros.
