Following the departure of substitute goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan (26; Sassuolo), Atlético Madrid have struck again in the transfer market and signed Juan Musso. The 30-year-old Argentinian is on loan from Atalanta BC, for whom he played 12 of the 13 full Europa League matches last season, including the final against Bayer Leverkusen (3-0).
Following the loan, Atlético have an option to buy Musso, which can become an obligation to buy in certain circumstances. The two-time national player and 2021 Copa America winner moved to Atalanta from Udinese for €20.5 million three years ago. He has kept La Dea’s goal clean sheet 32 times in 99 games. A regular in Serie A, Musso was replaced last year by Marco Carnesecchi (24). In addition, shortly after the Argentine’s transfer was announced, Portuguese veteran Rui Patrício (36) was brought in to Bergamo. He recently found himself without a club after his contract with Roma ended.
Atlético also announced a departure: defender Santiago Mouriño (22 years old) joins Deportivo Alavés. The Uruguayan has signed until 2030.
