The first deputy mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire, wishes to reopen the dialogue with PSG on the future of the Parc des Princes. Although the sale is exclusive, it offers solutions to preserve the club in the capital.
While the future of the Parc des Princes continues to be debated, Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy mayor of Paris and candidate to succeed Anne Hidalgo, expressed his wish to reopen discussions with Paris Saint-Germain. During an intervention on BFM ParisGrégoire affirms the solution which can be found quickly, but the exit from the rest of the stadium is excluded.
“The sale is not on the table”
Despite the tensions between the town hall and the management of PSG, Grégoire stressed the importance of keeping the club in the capital. “PSG is a club for nothing but has affection, not only me, but the Parisians and the Grand-Parisians”, he declared. However, he reiterated that the Paris Council is firmly opposed to a transfer of the Parc des Princes. Grégoire proposes to work on an economic model which can be used by PSG to amortize the investments necessary for the modernization of the stadium.
Building a new stadium: a Herculean task
Responding to PSG’s ambitions to build a new flagship on the outskirts of Paris, Grégoire shows the way by designing a new project: “Build a 100,000-seat stadium with all the environmental and transport constraints within 15 months. I have so much courage. » Its priority: to relaunch calm and dispassionate discussions to find an outcome favorable to all.
