Long-time DFB goalkeeping coach Andreas Köpke follows Jürgen Klinsmann to South Korea. After taking over as the new coach of the South Korean national team, former national coach Klinsmann appointed his future assistants and advisers for the first time on Thursday at the South Korea National (Site notre blog d’information) Center in Paju. « The coaching staff will be a mix from Europe and here (South) Korea, » he said. Klinsmann hinted at the style of game he wants to play in South Korea: « My personal background is as a striker. That’s why I always like to attack, and that means I prefer to win a game 4-3 rather than 1-0. » At the same time, the former professional clarified that he first had to go through « a huge learning curve » in order to « understand what is best for (South) Korea ». He will debut as coach of South Korea on March 24 in the international match against Colombia.
