A victory for the derby for the departure of the Europa League: SC Freiburg won the cross -border neighborhood duel with FC Basel and celebrated a successful start in the League. Baden Bundesliga Club beat the Swiss champion and the 2-1 Cup winner (1-0). The goals in front of 34,700 spectators scored the midfielder Patrick Osterhage (31st minute) and Maximilian Egglestein (57th). The objective of connection by the replacement Philip Otele (84th) arrived too late for the guests.
The two cities separate less than an hour drive. Fans of the two teams have been looking forward to the match for a long time. The big show failed. A solid appearance for the third consecutive competitive game was sufficient for the SC.
