collarbone fracture
Bitter news for Arminia Bielefeld: East Westphalia will be without one of their top scorers in Masaya Okugawa in the final push of the season. The Japanese broke his collarbone in training, the relegation-threatened second-division side have claimed. The 27-year-old’s injury needs to be treated surgically.
The attacking powerhouse, who was signed from Salzburg in 2021 after a previous €1m loan move, has scored 15 goals in 30 games this season. With three games to go before the end of the season, Bielefeld are in 16th place in relegation. Coach Uwe Koschinat’s side travel to 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday, after which they will host SC Paderborn for a neighborhood duel before traveling to 1. FC Magdeburg on the final match day.
