Union Berlin president Dirk Zingler has called on fans of the Bundesliga club not to take the successes of recent years as a benchmark. The 59-year-old rejected accusations that have regularly arisen in recent weeks amid the sporting decline that incorrect transfers were made this summer. In the second part of the end-of-year interview published on the club’s channels, he also announced that they would « experience changes in the squad » on the way back to success.

Zingler can’t give any real reasons for this season’s failure. He rejected the accusation of having signed players this summer who did not suit the club. “We haven’t changed anything, nothing. Zingler described the road back to a top team as a long one. “We will see changes in the team.
