It’s about 55 million

According to media reports, Kylian Mbappé has recorded a new milestone victory in the dispute over unpaid salaries worth millions with his ex-employer, Paris Saint-Germain. The French league’s appeals committee ruled in favor of Mbappé, as reported by sports newspaper « L’Équipe » and other French media. Mbappé is demanding 55 million euros in unpaid salaries and bonuses from his former club.
The league’s legal commission previously determined that PSG did not wrongly pay its former striker the salary elements set out in a supplementary agreement to the employment contract. The $1 million claimed was for unpaid monthly salaries for April, May and June, the last third of a bonus for Mbappé’s previous contract extension and an « ethical bonus » for the final months of the contract.
The oral agreement with PSG for Mbappé is void
PSG had relied on an oral agreement, which is why the club felt it did not have to pay the amount. Mbappé, in turn, considered that the Parisians’ verbal agreement was not respected because his playing time had been drastically reduced following the announcement of the transfer to Madrid. The 2018 world champion joined Champions League winners Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer after seven years in the PSG shirt.
However, the decision is not binding. If the parties still cannot find a compromise, the dispute could be taken to the labor court.
