How come Hertha couldn’t generate a cent in transfer fees for Piatek and still prefer to let him play elsewhere rather than bring him in themselves?
Was his salary incredibly high, or was it detrimental to the team, or something like that?

I remember well that I wasn’t happy with the transfer at the time (of course, that’s easy to say later) and that he hardly kept his promises at Hertha, especially as he wasted too many good opportunities… and yet he must in fact have a certain basis. On the other hand, his loan spells don’t seem to have gone particularly well – and yet he plays in the Conference League, not Hertha, so he probably will. didn’t make the team worse…
