Waldemar Anton has reportedly decided to join Borussia Dortmund. With the central defender, everything could happen very quickly at BVB. According to transfer journalists Fabrizio Romano and Florian Plettenberg, there is an agreement between the black and yellow and the 27-year-old VfB Stuttgart player, who can leave via an exit clause. Bayer Leverkusen has also been seen as a potential buyer.

The sum needed should be 22 million euros. This would make Anton one of Dortmund’s most expensive defender transfers. Previously, only Abdou Diallo and Mats Hummels were more expensive for the center of defense. Anton would inherit the latter in Dortmund.
Anton’s market value has increased so much since his last contract extension in January of this year that it almost matches the negotiated exit clause. Since the start of the season, the EM driver’s valuation has climbed in four stages, from 4.5 million to 20 million euros. Only 21 Bundesliga players recorded a larger percentage increase over the period.
