Fan series for the 2nd league

With the help of the community, (Site notre blog d’information) will take a closer look at the 56 teams in the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2 and Bundesliga 3 in the coming weeks. Which players fans are most looking forward to, where is there room for improvement and what’s in the squad for 2022/23 for your favorite club? We asked around in the forums and got our opinions – in the second league we continue with user « han-sainhamburg » and FC Hansa Rostock.

How do you rate the Hansa team?

The Baltic Sea wind blew over the Hanseatic League team. With Julian Riedel, Baxter Bahn and Björn Rother, the contracts of the three heroes of the ascent have not been renewed. Other additional players left and several loan deals – the biggest in sports terms with Timo Becker, who signed from Kiel – came to an end. A total of 15 players have left the club. However, the main formation could be maintained – with one exception. The departure of Hanno Behrens (for 200,000 euros to Persija Jakarta) hurts sportingly and personally, but has nevertheless created financial leeway.

Talk about Hansa RostockThis way!
Hansa took the opportunity to sign Sebastien Thill, who rose to prominence with his goals for Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League. Hansa has gained flexibility, among other things, thanks to the new commitments of Kai Pröger, Dennis Dressel, Morris Schröter, John-Patrick Strauß and Frederic Ananou, because all players can occupy several positions. A second goalkeeper has also been brought in in Nils-Jonathan Körber, who will put more pressure on established captain Markus Kolke than before. For John Verhoek, who stayed on with 17 goals, there hasn’t been a suitable replacement in the squad so far. Ridge Munsy and Pascal Breier do not embody the same center-forward model. Both are likely to be given away with a matching offer. With the recently announced appointment of Lukas Hinterseer, this need was met ahead of schedule. Overall, the team has grown considerably stronger and allows coach Jens Härtel to choose a more diverse system.

Where do you see a need for improvement by the deadline?

Although the squad is fundamentally well positioned, there is still room for improvement for a club like Hansa so well before the end of the transfer window. The position I think this is most likely to be for is a hybrid of centre-back and left-back as a left-(Site notre bureau spécialisé)ed player. Frederik Winther from Augsburg could offer himself a loan here. With Lukas Scherff (back after cruciate ligament rupture) and Felix Ruschke (from U19s), Hansa has two left-backs in the squad who are unlikely to be considered for regular training. With a player like Winther, you could cover that position and at the same time have another option for central defense if you play with a back three.

What do you expect from the player aspect of the team?

Over the past season, Hansa has mainly propagated systemic approaches tailored to target player Verhoek. In the new season, I expect a lot more flexibility – both systemically and with movement. Because with Thill and Dressel, the playful quality of the central midfielder has probably increased significantly. Additionally, Sweden’s Svante Ingelsson and Nils Fröling have further internalized their role as powerful attacking players with great tactical flexibility.

Ingelsson in particular can basically occupy all positions offensively and so, together with the very technically strong Haris Duljevic, provides plenty of surprise moments. Systematically, with the new team, you can deviate much more often from the clear 4-2-3-1 that was mainly chosen in the previous season and at the start or during a game you can flexibly switch to defender three with a clear track. players, usually in a 3-5-2, switch. Pröger or Ingelsson can then occupy the position of second striker. The preparation has clearly shown that Hansa has positioned itself more broadly here.

What does FC Hansa Rostock have in store for 2022/23?

It is important for Hansa to confirm the strong second half of the previous season as soon as possible. The opening program is extremely difficult – after the 0-1 draw against Heidenheim on Matchday 1, HSV, Bielefeld, Darmstadt and St. Pauli come next. If you come out of this program stronger, you can collect 40 points quickly and squint in the middle of the table. In any case, I trust the team to confirm the relegation and in the end I guess the eleventh place in the table.
