The defeat came seven days after Manchester United lifted the Carabao Cup – their first trophy since Erik Ten Hag took over as manager last May.

These are the three sides of the Premier League and the four quarters of the FA Cup final, and the four corners of the Europa League final.

Ten Hag, who wrote his team’s performance against rivals Liverpool as « unprofessional », dropped the in-form Marcus Rashford earlier this season after the forward missed a squad meeting, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated by mutual consent in November.
