Sevilla FC terminate Fernando’s contract early

For private reasons

Brazilian midfielder Fernando and Sevilla FC have prematurely ended the 36-year-old’s contract, which initially ran until June 2024, by mutual agreement. The context is the personal wish of the former Manchester, Porto and Galatasaray professional to return to his home country.

The right-hander had been playing in Europe since 2007 and generated around €26 million in transfer revenue during his five stops. His highest market value dates back to his time at FC Porto and was valued at €17.5 million in 2013 (see history). His greatest successes include three Europa League victories (2x with Sevilla, 1x with Porto), eleven national titles with the Portuguese and the 2016 League Cup victory with the ‘Citizens’. During his time on the Bosphorus, he became Turkish champion twice and won the double with Galatasaray in 2018/19.
