Grimsby Town are subject to Brighton
Marcel Sabitzer with his first goal and Bruno Fernandes twice saved Manchester United from elimination from the English FA Cup. In the 3-1 (0-1) quarter-final against Premier League rivals FC Fulham, Bayern’s loanee made it 2-1 in the 77th minute on Sunday. The visitors took the lead in the 50th minute through Aleksandar Mitrović. After a red card against Willian of Fulham (72nd), who thwarted an opportunity on the line of his hand, Fernandes (75th) equalized. Mitrovic shoved referee Chris Kavanagh after his teammate was sent off and then had to go to the locker room with a red card. United took advantage of the double advantage thanks to Sabitzer and Fernandes (90+6).
Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion played their part as favorites and had no problems in the 5-0 (1-0) win over Fourth Division side Grimsby Town. The « Mariners » had reached the last eight with five wins against higher class teams. In the Championship duel, Sheffield United beat Blackburn Rovers 3-2 (1-1). Tommy Doyle scored the winning goal in the first minute of added time.
