« The rules allow it and my phone is on. If Gattuso wants to talk to me, I would be very happy, » Germany U21 international Nicolò Tresoldi said in October about a possible association move to Italy. As a result, there was no appeal – and that is why the Club Brugge striker now appears to have opted for the DFB team.

« Italy is Italy, but years ago I decided to play for Germany. They showed me a perspective, I immediately felt valued, even by the association. That’s important for a player, » Tresoldi said in an interview with « Gazzetta dello Sport ». « I never received a call from Coverciano (district of Florence and headquarters of the Italian association; publisher), so I am staying in Germany for now. » The former Hanoverian has been playing for the DFB youth teams since the under-19s and has scored ten goals in 22 games for the under-21s.

After his arrival in Bruges this summer and his good performances, he expected interest from Italy. He admitted: « Honestly, yes. After all, I scored two goals in the Champions League, among others. A call, even just to get to know each other, would have been nice. That means I have to do even more, » Tresoldi said.

For Brugge, Tresoldi has so far scored twelve goals and four assists in 42 appearances. His market value reached 10 million euros for the first time in December, making him the most valuable German striker with a maximum age of 21 behind Nelson Weiper (20) – in the next March update he could even overtake the Mainz player, who sits there mainly on the bench. “I think I have further developed in all areas of (Site notre bureau spécialisé) and taken a new step,” Tresoldi explained in a recent interview with (Site notre blog d’information).
